Juanita Arlene French

1941 - 2017



FRENCH, Juanita Arlene, 75, of Eaton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 11, 2017, at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Mary (Rockwell) Walker and Lawrence Misner, and was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on August 20, 1941. She is survived by two sons, Glen (Joy) French. Jr, of Richmond Indiana, Bret(Teresa) French of West Alexandria, and one daughter, Cindy (Jason) Fore, of Eaton. She is also survived by her brother, Earl Misner of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and two sisters, Doris (Walker) Vargo, of Johnstown, Ohio and, Joyce (Walker) Garlough of Alexandria, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen French, her brother, Lawrence Misner Jr, as well as her parents. Juanita has six grandchildren, Michael Manley, Angela Jensen, Jesse French, Todd French, Chris French, and Alina Fore. She also has four great-grandchildren, Kia Manley, Kyle Manley, Dalton Gibson, and Jaden Story. Juanita graduated from Carthage-Troy High School in 1959 and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended Ohio University for two years and Miami University for one year while earning her teaching degree. Juanita worked at Twin Valley Board of Education for 10 years and then Preble County Board of Education before retiring after 25 years in education. Clair and Mae Lynch were Juanita’s guardians who raised her from an early age. She is preceded in death by them. She and Glen served as Youth Directors for the First Brethren Church in West Alexandria for many years and was currently a member of Community Christian Church in West Alexandria. She had a zest for her Lord and life. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school events. Juanita was loved and respected by many. VISITATION will be held on Monday June 19, 2017, at the Community Christian Church, 11 Dorsey Akers Drive, West Alexandria, Ohio 45381, from 6 PM until 8 PM and on Tuesday June 20, 2017, from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM with Pastor Douglas Bottles officiating. Interment will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Dayton.
