In loving memory of

William E. Barnett

1941 - 2022

On September 1, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, a “King” as he was referred to by his daughters, William E. Barnett “PaPa” was born to the late Elzone and Vivian Barnett (Woods).

William, in his early childhood, moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he was raised by his grandparents George and Evelyn Hatcher, and professed a love for Christ at an early age. William attended grade school #37 and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School where he lettered in football and track-n-field, and man, this brother could run!
William served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three and a half years where he received an honorable discharge due to health issues.

On September 10, 1961, he married the love of his life Flossie M. Turner and to this union five daughters were born with three surviving, who were the light of his life. William was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for twelve years where he retired and became an avid golfer, bowler, fisherman, and awesome babysitter for his grandchildren and extended family.

On August 26, 2022, at 11:15 p.m., at the age of 80, William received his call form our Heavenly Father and he answered the call with “Yes Lord.”

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his youngest sister, Cokie and his grandparents.
