Dakota James “Kody” Rife

Dakota James “Kody” Rife, 21, passed away December 17.2016, in Lima. Kody was born April 7, 1995, in Lima, the son of Darlene Elizabeth (Pugin) Roop, and James Wayne Rife. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Lima. Kody graduated from Wapakoneta High School and Apollo Career Center, where he studied Auto Body. He was employed at Whirlpool in Ottawa. Kody’s life revolved around his mother, and his new family, Meranda Scott, and his daughter, Haven Lee-Ann Rife.

Kody is survived by his mother, Darlene E. Roop (fiancé, Joshua L. Blanchard), step father, Brian L. Roop(fiancé, Dawn M. Huston), his step mother, April M. Rife. His brothers and sisters: Bryanna P. Roop, Cameron J. Roop, Levi A. Roop, Isabel N. Roop, Courtney K. Cottrell, Preston J. Rife, Jarod A. Rife, He is also survived by paternal grandparents: Tom Rife, and Linda and Steve Carpenter, maternal grandparents: Darrell and Cheryl Pugin, Patsy Lorena Coon, and Charles (Carol) Coon Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Christian S. Hackman.

Kody enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He also enjoyed taking his brother and sister paintballing. He will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends. His love for Jesus began at age 5, and he now resides in his heavenly home.

Friends may call on Monday, December 26,2016, from 5-8pm, at Redeeming Grace Family Worship Center, 821 N. Jefferson St. Lima, Ohio 45801. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 27,2016, at Redeeming Grace Family Worship Center, Pastors Tex and Boots Rowe officiating. Friends may call from 9am until the time of the service at the church.
