In loving memory of

Joseph Anderson

1958 - 2017

A celebration of the life of Joseph “Joe” Anderson will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd, from 3pm - 5pm at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church located at 1520 Stewart Rd. Lima, OH 45801.
Joe peacefully went to Heaven on Monday, November 20th, after a courageous eight-year battle with Melanoma Cancer.
Joe was born to George and Janice (Locke) Anderson, of Muncie, IN. He was 58 years old.
Along with his twin brother Jeff (Susan) Anderson and their two children Ben and Emily, who survive in Indianapolis. An older brother Greg, sister Kim Smith, daughter Shreve and granddaughter Halea of Muncie, and a younger brother Jon (Angela) Anderson children Renee and Callie, of Texas survive.
Joe graduated from Muncie Northside in 1978, and wound up in Lima in 1987 to take over and manage a McQuick Oil Lube.
Joe was eager to get back to Indianapolis until he met and married the love of his life, Robin (Lutterbein) and soon realized Lima was to become his new home.
Joe and Robin were married in 1988 and that same year he was hired into Honda of America in Anna, where he recently retired due to his illness.
Together Joe and Robin shared 28 years of marriage, 4 children and 1 grandchild and achieved the building of their dream home earlier in 2017.
Joe would tell you he is a “Simple Man” — he was not prone to extravagances nor vices and everyone loved Joe because he was always quick to lend a hand, never boastful nor judgmental, forever patient and a true listener.
His family was his life and at the end of the day the only place he ever wanted to be was at home, with his family. Slow to anger and amazingly patient and kind, Joe never had a bad word to say about anyone.
He loved to be outside playing golf, sport clay shooting, mowing grass, landscaping and fishing.
Although he was initially diagnosed with melanoma in 2009, and had several recurrences between now and then, it wasn’t until these last several months that this awful disease got the best of him.
We are so thankful to Cancer Treatment Centers of America that bought us an extra 2 years of time for Joe to witness the birth of his first grandchild (recently seeing her take her first steps,) giving away his daughter Kori in marriage only one month ago and getting to enjoy time in the home he designed and loved so much.
Cancer is such a wicked devil, especially Melanoma, but Joe never gave up, never gave in and never complained or cursed his fate. He accepted it with dignity and grace, and we are so thankful that he went peacefully.
Joe was an exceptional Father, son, husband and friend to all who knew him. He touched many lives and left this world a better place where his footprints will not soon be forgotten.

Joe is survived by his wife Robin, his 4 children: Brandi (Nick) Verceles of Chicago, granddaughter Charlie Verceles.
Kori (Dane) Fowler of Columbus, Aaron Anderson, of St. Louis and Austin Anderson, Coast Guard San Juan Puerto Rico.
In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, or Community Home Professionals Home Care and Hospice Van Wert, OH.
If you must send flowers, please make sure they are delivered between 1-3pm on November 22nd at the church. For more information, and to view Joe’s online obituary, please go to: WWW. CHURCHFUNERALSDIRECT.COM
