MIDDLETOWN, OH – Thomas Charles Combs, age 72, of Middletown, died on Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born on December 7, 1950, in Middletown, to the late Charlie and Ruth Combs (Adkins). Thomas was a 1968 graduate of Lemon-Monroe High School and worked as a professional truck driver for many years, with his last job being with Raven Trucking Company, retiring approximately 10 years ago due to declining health. As a young man Tommy married the love of his life, Nancy Barnett and began raising a family. Thomas loved working on cars, racing, and anything having to do with trucks. He will be remembered as being optimistic, giving, and kind. He was the type of person who never knew a stranger and he adored spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his brothers, William R. Combs of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Kenneth Combs (Lorene) of Camden, Ohio, James Combs (Sandy) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Ronnie Combs (Alberta) of Vero Beach, Florida; sisters, Mildred Langford of Carlisle, Ohio, Nancy Combs of Maitland, Florida, Vivian Gibbs of Dayton, Ohio, Peggy Tackett (Wendell) of Dayton, Ohio, Judy Begley of Richmond, Indiana, Teresa Lawson (Dan) of Middletown, Ohio, Sharon Scott (Rich) of Lebanon, Ohio, Karen Bryant of Middletown, Ohio, and Penny Mullins (Josh) of Carlisle, Ohio; grandchildren, Chasitey Combs, Cody Combs, Khrystal Combs, Shawnee Combs, Summer Combs, and Ronnie Combs, as well as great grandchildren, Kaylee Smith, Aubrey Smith, Maverick Combs, Madalyn Gibbs, and Emmrick Eccles.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; son, Thomas Charles “Charlie” Combs; daughter, Sandra Jean “Jeanie” Combs, and sisters, Betty Combs Childers, Jenny Combs Morford, and Mollie Combs Centers.

Visitation will be Friday December 8, 2023, at 9:00 AM at Encounter Church, 5346 Hamilton Trenton Rd., Trenton, OH 45067. A service will follow at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Ronnie Combs and Rev. Joshua Mullins, also at the church. Burial will take place at Butler Co. Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
