GREENVILLE, OH – Hamilton, Thomas “Tom” Allen, age 70, of Greenville, OH, passed away on May 21, 2021 after a short illness. He was born on October 5, 1950 to the late Lester and Pauline Hamilton (Thomas) in Union City, IN. Tom was a 1968 graduate from Union City Community High School and served in the U.S. Army from January 20, 1970 to September 23, 1971. On January 27, 1973, he married the love of his life, Kathy Brooks, and began raising a family. Tom worked for the Union City Body Company for many years before going to work as a Bus Aide for special needs children with Ansonia schools, retiring in 2016. In his earlier years, he was an avid golfer. Tom enjoyed playing cards and had a great love for cars. He also cherished his grandchildren, always attending their sporting events. One of his favorite pastimes was beating his grandchildren at marbles. Tom will always be remembered as a quiet and loyal family man and husband.

Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Hamilton; sons, Chris (Jenny) Hamilton of Versailles, OH, Nick (Jessica) Hamilton of Greenville, OH, and Matt (Mary) Hamilton of Loveland, OH; sisters, Vicki Ruther (Steve Bendes) of Kings Park, NY and Ginny (Wiley) Higgins of Union City, IN, and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Caden, Cole, Sydney, Sam, Carson, Ben, Aiden, and Owen Hamilton, as well as Leevi and Nick Ward.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bob Ruther.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Northside Community Fellowship, 8135 US-127, Greenville, OH 45331. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., also at the church, with Pastor Randy Brown officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Thursday from 8:00-10:00 a.m. An inurnment of Tom’s remains will be held at a later date.
