UNION CITY, OH – Robert Eugene Hampshire, Jr., age 68, of Union City, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 27, 2022. He was born on October 19, 1953, to the late Robert Eugene, Sr. and Ethel Rose Hampshire (Allen) in Union City, IN and was a 1972 graduate of Mississinawa Valley High School. Shortly after graduation, Robert married his sweetheart, Donna Villasenor on January 15, 1972, and together began raising a family. He worked for Union City Body Company for 39 years, retiring in 2017. Robert kept busy and enjoyed many outdoor activities such as deer hunting, fishing, gardening/landscaping, and bird watching. He also loved working on cars, woodworking, and was quite the handyman. Friends and family will remember him as a “jack-of-all-trades”.

Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna Hampshire; children, Robert E. Hampshire III and Amy Hampshire of Union City, OH; siblings, Cliff (Sue) Hampshire of Union City, OH, Sandy (Gene) Hackler of Saratoga, IN, Barbara Carpenter of Richmond, IN, and Rosalie (Charlie) McEldowney of Rossburg, OH; grandchildren, Mackenzie Richardson, Bobby, Ciara, Noah, Jordan, Joshua, Karissa, and Braxton Hampshire, as well as great grandchild, Arya Rose Murphy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Scott Carpenter.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, at First Assembly of God, 7219 OH-118, Greenville, OH 45331, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will take place at New Lisbon Cemetery, Union City, IN.
