In loving memory of

Robert Tobias Finkbine Sr.

1941 - 2022

WEST MANCHESTER, OHIO – Robert Tobias Finkbine Sr., 81, of West Manchester, passed away gently on October 29, 2022, as he wanted, at home, where he was surrounded by family and friends. He was born on August 16, 1941, in Hamilton, OH to the late Bruce and Blanche Finkbine. Bob graduated in 1959 from Talawanda High School in Oxford, OH. On September 24, 1960, he married Saundra Sue McQueen Finkbine at the Oxford Presbyterian Church in Oxford, OH. She was the love of his life for 58 years.

Bob was a Darke County farmer who loved to work the land at his family farm in West Manchester and felt as though he was blessed as he often told the story of this area being “God’s Country” and how he was led to Darke County. Bob also formerly worked at Emery Worldwide Air Freight, National Cash Register (NCR), and with his own excavating company. He loved the “dirt” and figuring out the best way to farm yet still respecting our earth. John Deere was his equipment of choice as there was not any other color but green. He loved taking his restored tractors to the Power of the Past, but his favorite part was just getting to talk to people. Bob was committed to being an active 4-H Beef Club co-advisor along with his late wife, Sandy Finkbine, where they were highly and passionately involved in the Darke County Fair. He raised livestock on the farm, but Angus Beef was always his favorite.

Bob had a strong commitment to following Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, trying to reflect his word on a daily basis through his work and by serving others. He was gracious in always willing to lend a helping hand in supporting his family, friends, and neighbors. He has some famous phrases that one would often hear him say, “that’s a fact” and “let’s eat” always followed the family prayers.

Surviving him is daughter, Teresa (Finkbine) Woodin (husband, Michael) of West Manchester OH, and sons, Rob Finkbine (wife, Amy Summers Finkbine) of New Madison, OH and Joseph Finkbine (wife, April Fairclough Finkbine) of New Madison, OH. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, Adriana Burnside of Greenville, OH, Dakota Finkbine of New Madison, OH, Connor and Brendan Woodin of Oxford, OH, and Dylan, Justin, Carter, Noah, Alexis, Shelby, and Jamie Finkbine of New Madison, OH. Bob also leaves two brothers, Marshall Finkbine of Somerville, OH, Warren Finkbine of Oxford, OH, and their families in Butler County, OH.

Preceding him was his wife, Sandy Finkbine and a valued member of the family, Aunt Helen Hudson.
