ARCANUM, OH – James E. Bunch, Jr., age 80, of Arcanum, passed away peacefully at his home on April 2, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1942, in Evarts, KY to the late James E. and Carolee Bunch, Sr. (Thompson). On June 22, 1963, he married the love of his life, Janet "Kay" Taylor, and began raising a family. James drove trucks for many years before finally starting his own trucking company, Bunch Trucking Inc. His son later followed in his footsteps, starting his own trucking company. James loved antique cars and was known by all to be a hard worker, dedicated to his family. He also enjoyed taking family vacations. He delighted and blessed everyone with his creativity and talent for baking cakes, rolls, breads, and many other specialty items. That was his way of expressing his love to everyone and he will always be remembered for that.

James leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Janet "Kay" Bunch; children, Lori (Brent) Byers of Union City, Lisa Bunch of Cincinnati, and Christopher Alan (Jami Keen) of Union City; siblings, Barbara (John) Hulett, Jerry (Debbie) Bunch, Rose (Bruce) Root, Mike (Susan) Bunch, and Kathy (Curt) Kitchen; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and beloved fur baby, “Jasmine”.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday April 6, 2023, at First Assembly of God, 7219 OH-118, Greenville, OH 45331, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Dale Boeger. Burial will take place at Brock Cemetery, Versailles, OH. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Thursday between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Everheart Hospice in Greenville, OH in honor of James.
