Sharon Wright
1942 - 2023
ANSONIA – Sharon M. Wright, age 81, of Ansonia, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Mercy Health in Springfield, Ohio.
She was born on October 31, 1942, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late J.C. and Alice (Hess) McKee.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Mike, whom she married on March 1, 1964; her sons, Mark (Melissa) Wright of Arcanum, and Jason (Rachelle) Wright of Greenville; her grandchildren, Andrew (Allison) Wright, Micaela (Micah) Light, Joshua (Maggie) Wright, Nathan Wright, Olivia (Alex Davidson) Wright, Emily (Eyan) Hackler, Brady Wright and Trevor Wright; her great grandchildren, Coby, Brooks, Brooklyn and Owen; her sister, Karen (Doug) Shellhaas of Ansonia; her sister-in-law, Barbara (Melvin) Hocker of Ansonia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse and, for around 30 years, served as the Candy Striper Director for Wayne Hospital. She was an active member of the Ansonia First Church of God. She loved quilting, sewing, and going on golf cart rides. Sharon enjoyed attending the Farm Power of the Past and the Great Darke County Fair. She and Mike raised dairy goats and were past members of the American Dairy Goat Association. Her family was the center of her universe. Nothing brought more joy to Sharon than watching her grandchildren fish in her pond and attending all their activities.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at The Ansonia First Church of God, 750 South Main Street, Ansonia, Ohio 45303. Family will also receive friends at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023, also at the church, where a service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Brock Cemetery.
Flowers may be delivered to the church on Sunday, December 17th between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the church in honor of Sharon.
