DEFIANCE, OH – Armando Castaneda Jr., age 72, of Defiance, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 30, 1949 in Houston, TX to the late Armando Castaneda Sr. and Juanita Orduna. Armando worked as a general laborer. He was also an avid painter and guitar player, who loved the Lord. He will be most remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his children.

Armando is survived by his wife, Margarita Castaneda (Salinas) of Venus, TX; children, Teresa (Mike) Ramirez of Venus, TX; Tracy (Ric) Barajas of Defiance, OH, Armando Castaneda III of Defiance, OH, and Delia Diaz of Lantana, FL; grandchildren, Michael (Christian) Ramirez, Mariesa Ramirez, Destiny Diaz, Ricky Jr. (Bella) Barajas, Emilio (Estrella) Barajas, Gisella Barajas, Armando Castaneda IV, Marcel Castaneda, Lorenzo Castaneda, and Laylah Castaneda; great grandchildren, Selena, Aaliyah, Amelia, Luna, Lincoln, Bash, Valentino, Ricky, Vincenzo, Decilio, and Anaceli.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Luis Ortiz, Johnny Valdez, and Linda Sanchez.

Family will receive friends on April 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at the New Jerusalem Church, 600 Division Street, Defiance, OH 43512, where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Pete Flores officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in honor of Armando, or to a charity of your choice.
