CONTINENTAL, OH – Blanche Ellen Rue, age 92, of Continental, passed away on December 13, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 24, 1929, in Defiance, OH to the late Leo & Thelma Caryer (Relyea). She was a 1949 graduate of Payne High School and married her sweetheart, Elbert Morris Rue on June 27, 1953. Blanche worked as a bus driver for Head Start for many years, retiring in the early 90's. She was an active member of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene and loved baking, cooking, gardening, camping, playing cards, and watching old Western movies. Blanche also enjoyed giving away her baked goods to family & friends, which is how she will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Lori) Rue of Ottawa, OH, John (Kim) Rue of Continental, OH, Tim (Roxanne) Rue of Evansport, OH, Dave (Kim) Rue of Ottoville, OH, Barb (Denny) Heinonen of Kalamazoo, MI, Chris (Richard) Baldwin of Cecil, OH, Randy (Lynn) Rue of Defiance, OH, Ron (Denise) Rue of Defiance, OH, and Sam (Stacey) Rue of Paulding, OH; brother, Richard (Shirley) Caryer of Defiance, OH; daughter-in-law, Theresa Rue; 33 grandchildren, and 49 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Blanche is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Morris Rue; son, Jim Rue; siblings, Clarence Caryer, Leo Caryer, Jr., Chuck Caryer, Jim Caryer, Jack Caryer, Homer Caryer, Howard Caryer, Thelma Caryer, and Juanita Caryer; granddaughter, Ashley Rue, and daughter-in-law, Cheri Rue.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Defiance Church of the Nazarene, 1656 Jefferson Ave., Defiance, OH 43512 with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Terra Gorrell, Rev. Scott Williams, and Rev. Don Leonard officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Saturday between 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental, OH.
