HICKSVILLE, OH – Loren Rex Baxter, age 77, of Hicksville, OH, died Monday, October 2, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 9, 1945, in Hicksville, OH to the late Earl and Nina Baxter (McDonald). Loren was a 1966 graduate of Hicksville High School and worked for the Crook Miller Company, a woodworking shop, as a handle maker for 34 years. Loren enjoyed playing cards, tinkering in his garage, being a helping hand, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and going to church to praise Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Family and friends will always remember him for his constant smile and practical jokes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Jerry; stepson, Roy Wright Jr., and great grandson, Isaiah Garcia.

Loren is survived by his wife of 9 years and partner for 37 years, Mary Lou Baxter; children, Harley (Becky) Wright of Hicksville, OH, Judy (Larry) Miller of Edgerton, OH, and LouAnn (Carl) Warner of Hicksville, OH; siblings, Karen Bice, Rita (Phil) Weimer, and Lynn (Fran) Platt; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Wright, April Miller-Zapp (Nicholas Garcia), Nicole (Christopher) Schavel, Adam Furrow, Nicholas (Paige) Pepple, Nathan (Katya) Miller, Timothy Warner, Breeann (Marcus) Warner, and Christopher Warner, as well as numerous great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Lifeline Connect Church, 411 Defiance Ave., Hicksville, OH 43526. A service will follow at 12:00 p.m. also at the church with Pastor Steve Eyers officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hicksville Union Cemetery, Hicksville, OH.
