DEFIANCE, OH – William “Bill” Earl Rohlf, age 95, of Defiance, died Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1928, in Defiance, to the late Wilbert and Gladys Rohlf (Frisinger). Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He retired from Defiance Precision Products and enjoyed farming, taking trips, and teasing his nieces and nephews. It was also well known in the family that if you came home to find your chairs up on the table, Bill had been there! Bill also loved reading the Bible and Louis L’amore books. He could frequently be found eating out with friends at Burger King, playing Rummy, and watching old Western movies.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Martha, in December of 1996, and siblings, Mildred Schmidt, Orianna Armbruster, Helen Woodring, infant brother, Wilbert Rohlf, Bessie Smith, Wilberta Iler, and Karl Rohlf.

Bill is survived by his siblings, Mary Font of Grover Hill, OH, Maxine Pippin of Edgerton, OH, Philip Rohlf of Defiance, OH, and Martha Rath of Plymouth, OH, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 14102 OH-111, Defiance, OH 43512 with a service following at 12:00 p.m., Pastor Mick Sobieck officiating. Burial will be at Independence Cemetery, Defiance, OH.
