Robert Orlyn Henderson, age 74 of Bellbrook, went home to be with the Lord, on August 26, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was born on September 9, 1944 in Huntington, WV to the late Paul and Cara Henderson.

He graduated from Dawson-Bryant High School in 1963. After completing his education he went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his honorable service, Bob earned a Purple Heart and many other notable metals and awards. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Bellbrook Marathon.

Bob married the love of his life, Carol Ann Toops, in 1978.The two have shared many happy years together.

Bob enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dogs. He loved watching the history and military channels in his free time. Bob was a long time member of Liberty Worship Center in Xenia. He was a loyal, caring, and fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Gene Williams.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 41 years, Carol Ann Henderson; daughters, Michelle (Justin) Muran and Rebecca Henderson; step-daughters, Rae Lynn (Mark) Cummin and Celeste (Tim) Byerly; granddaughter, Aeriel Hunter; sister, Patricia (John) Sergent; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A funeral service honoring Bob’s life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 1 pm at Liberty Worship Center, 1180 Upper Bellbrook Road, Xenia, Ohio. Visitation will be held for two hours prior (11 am – 1 pm). Pastor Todd Martin to officiate. Burial and Army honors to be held immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Flowers may be delivered to the church by 9:30 am Friday.
