Mark A. Cummings
1961 - 2021
MIAMISBURG, OH – Mark A. Cummings, age 60, of Miamisburg, passed away surrounded by his family on December 17, 2021. He was born on August 7, 1961 to Jack W. Cummings Sr. and Beverly A. Cummings (Sauerbrun) in Dayton, OH. Mark graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1979 and married the love of his life, Lynda Mathis, on November 23, 1992. He loved baseball and played Little League through Adult Softball League. He was honored to have been chosen one year to play baseball on a team being sponsored by the American Legion
Miamisburg Post 165. He was also the third generation to work at Ralph Cummings Moving & Storage, where he was a general manager. Mark loved the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Dayton Flyers. He was also an avid fan of The Ohio State University. Mark was extremely dedicated to the family business, but in his free time he enjoyed Sudoku puzzles and fishing. He also loved spending time at the beach and staying in cabins on family trips to Tennessee. Mark was also a bowler, having bowled his first 800 series on February 9, 1993. He will be remembered by his family as being a selfless individual and as their protector, much like a lion keeping watch over his pride.
Mark is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lynda K. Cummings; children, Chad A. Cummings and Staci L. Cummings both of Miamisburg, OH; parents, Jack and Beverly Cummings Sr. of West Carrollton, OH; siblings, Jack “Jay” W. Cummings Jr. of Moraine, OH, Lisa (Jeff) Mgebroff of Perrysburg, OH, and Lori A. (Tim) Rogers of Springfield, OH, as well as many loving in-laws, extended family, and many friends.
Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Miami Shores Baptist Church, 4000 Vance Road, Moraine, OH 45439 with Pastor Wayne Woody officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Monday between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the church in memory of Mark.
