DAYTON, OH – Gregory Garcellos Hunter, age 68, of Dayton, passed away on March 9, 2022. He was born on August 27, 1953 to Julius H. Hunter and Phyllis Sanders (Hamilton) in Columbus, OH. Gregory worked as a mortgage broker for many years and in his spare time he enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He will be most remembered for his elaborate story-telling and flare for style.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory, father, Julius Hunter Sr.; brothers, Julius (Saundra) Hunter Jr. of Columbus, GA and Jeffrey (Pam) Hunter of Columbus, OH; longtime companion, Peggy Lindsey of Dayton, OH; Peggy’s niece, Deborah Anne Wright of Centerton, AR; Peggy’s son, Portia (Marguerite) Baker of Union, OH; Peggy’s daughter, Donna (Gregory) Ankeney, and Peggy’s granddaughter; Tova (Vernon) Rose of Union, OH.

Gregory is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Phyllis Sanders and step-father, John Sanders.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH with military honors.
