Elbert Wright Sr., 70, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of West Alexandria, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, January 20, 2018. He was born on March 27, 1947, to the late Carl and Clara Wright. Elbert was a hardworking man who retired from Metallurgical Services as a truck driver for many years. He was a devoted father, a supportive husband, a cool grandpa and a silly great grandpa. He had a passion for classic cars and loved watching cartoons and taking naps. He had a big heart and would help out a friend anytime he was able. He will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Edna Wright, whom he married on January 1, 1975. He is also survived by his daughter, Libby Groves, son, Elbert Wright Jr. and one step-daughter, Sandy Jones. Elbert also has five grandchildren, Michael, Destiny, Khris, Abby, Brandon and one great-granddaughter, Harper Groves. He is also survived by his two sisters, Frances Bennett and Shirley (Jim) Hartman and numerous relatives and extended family. He will miss his one-eyed cat Leonard, whom he loved most of the time. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11:30 AM until the time of service at 12:30 PM, at the Fairborn Free Will Baptist Church, 16 Edna Avenue, Fairborn, Ohio 45324 with Rev. Carl Hartman officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, February 09, 2018 at 10 AM at Fairview Cemetery, 5785 Brubaker Road, West Alexandria, Ohio 45381 with Rev. Carl Hartman officiating.
