1950 - 2024
PAULDING, OH - Randy E. Short, 73, of Paulding, passed away late Wednesday night on January 24, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital. He was born on June 19, 1950, in Wauseon, OH to the late Ronald L. and Martha J. (Leupp) Short.
Randy was a graduate of Archbold High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, later obtaining his master’s degree from University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne IN.
He married Sherry K. Borland on October 19, 1974, in Wauseon OH, by Pastor Gordon Zimmerman. Randy was a special needs teacher at Paulding High School for 30 years and coached almost every sport, with wrestling being his favorite. In his free time, he enjoyed watching pro football. His favorite teams were the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie and loved spending time with his family. He was also a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Paulding.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Sherry; brother, Roger (Susan, deceased) Short of Sylvania; son, Robert (Michelle) Borland of Paulding; grandchildren, Tyler (Demetrius), Christian, Madison, and Daniella; great grandchildren, Creed, Robert, and Leonardo; one niece and several nephews. He will also be sadly missed by several cats and a dog, Lady.
In honor of Randy’s wishes there will be no memorial service.
