West Alexandria, Ohio – Dana (Hicks) Powell, 68, of Ellenton, Florida passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on April 6, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late George and Dorthy Hicks.
Dana graduated from Trotwood High School in 1967 and married Wayne Powell on July 31, 1978 in Trotwood, Ohio. They enjoyed 39 years together.
She was a waitress at Bears Restaurant in West Alexandria, Ohio and Old Hickory BBQ on North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. Dana loved relaxing on her favorite park bench in Palmetto, Florida overlooking the bay.
Dana was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorthy Hicks; brothers, Mickey Hicks and Tony Hicks, and a sister, Brenda Polston.
She is survived by her loving husband Wayne; sisters, Donna Rutherford and Rhonda (Tom) Erisman both of West Alexandria; sons, Mike Woxman of Mason, Ohio, Craig (Brandy) Woxman of Eaton, Ohio, and Matthew (Katie) Powell of West Alexandria; brother-in-law, Mac Polston of New Lebanon; and grandchildren: Ashley, Eric, Adam, and Ben Woxman, and Alice Powell; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience.
