John Taylor
1951 - 2025
MUNCIE, IN – Johnnie (John) R. Taylor, age 73, of Muncie, passed peacefully on February 11, 2025. He was born on October 18, 1951, in Muncie, IN, to the late Donald H. and L. Louise (Garrett) Taylor. On May 12, 2007, he married Linda Graber Huber in Kokomo, IN. John worked for Duffy Tool and Stamping for over 30 years. He enjoyed restoring old cars, even brought back to life a 1978 Buick Regal for himself and a 1965 Ford Mustang for Linda. He was a member of the Dead End Kruisers Car Club in Muncie and enjoyed participating in car shows. John was also a member of Avondale United Methodist Church. He was the type of person who loved just hanging out with his family, friends, and neighbors. John never knew a stranger. He was outgoing and always friendly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Taylor Bell; grandsons, Jeffrey Ray Hurst and Dylan Moody; his brother, Donald (Sheila) Taylor, and step-brothers, Dick Taylor and Nodest Taylor.
John leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Linda Taylor; children, Christal Caldwell, Lisa (Brian) Chandler, Glen Taylor, John Taylor, and Melinda (Jeff) Hurst; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Vickie (Steve) Vaught; half-sister, Donna (Kenny) Ainsworth; step-brother, Danny (Maryann) Taylor; sister-in-law, Patricia Graber, and brother-in-law, Kenton Graber.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Avondale United Methodist Church, 1314 W. 10th St, Muncie, IN 47302, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Ed Armantrout. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Tuesday between 9:00-11:00 AM. Entombment will be private. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the church, in honor of Johnnie.
