MUNCIE, IN - Naomi Cook, age 91, of Muncie, Indiana, passed into the arms of Jesus while giggling on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Naomi was born on October 16, 1935, in Fleming County Kentucky to the late Bert and Vernie (Crum) McVey. She was the last surviving of her six siblings: Johnnie McVey, Sarah Hovas, Myrtle Standford, Roy McVey, and Benny McVey.

Naomi was the first of her family to graduate from high school at Hartford City High School. She married Jim Cook in April of 1955 and welcomed her only child, Jeff Cook, in March of 1957. Naomi was a proud Bell Telephone Operator until her retirement. Since retirement Naomi and her husband were snowbirds in Florida for 30 years. She was also a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Muncie.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Naomi is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jim and her son, Jeff. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Cook; granddaughter, Allison Cook, and grandson, Austin Cook, along with several nieces and nephews.
