Michael Patrick Raver
1958 - 2023
PERU, IN – Michael Patrick Raver, age 65, of Peru, Indiana, passed away on October 4, 2023. He was born on March 17, 1958, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Bessie Faye (Munea) Raver and Robert (Betty) Raver.
Michael and his wife Penny were both truck drivers and would work together, splitting the driving time. He had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help others. He would defend those he thought needed it, and though he was a large man, he was a “Big Teddy Bear”. His favorite pastime was fishing. He and Penny have shared many fishing trips and many wonderful memories.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Andy Winters.
Michael is survived by his wife of 13 years, Penny (Maxwell) Raver, whom he married on September 22, 2010; his children, Stacy Raver, Michael (Emily) Raver, Chad (Kelsey) Henry, and Chelsea (Kevin) Evans; his grandchildren, Abby, Penelope, Ellie and Wyatt; his siblings, Robert (Becky) Raver, Kevin Raver, Debbie Rogers, Carolyn Raver, Willie (Brenda) Winters, Terry (Annette) Winters, and Jerry (Beth) Winters. Michael is also survived by his first wife, Debbie Raver; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2023, from 4PM to 5PM at Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church, 2171 W. Chapel Pike, Marion, Indiana. A service honoring Michael’s life will follow at 5PM at the church with Pastor Jim Sonnifield officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 2PM and 4PM.
