Angela Owsley
1967 - 2025
JONESBORO, IN – Angela Owsley, age 58, died on December 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 25, 1967, in Marion, IN, to the late Bobby and Barbara (Lawson) Owsley. Angela was a 1985 graduate of Mississinewa High School and also attended Tucker Vocational School. She worked as a law officer for several years before becoming disabled.
Angela was an outdoorsy person who absolutely loved fishing; she especially loved beating her sisters at fishing and did so most of the time. She was also very artsy, always creating something beautiful; she enjoyed painting, carving walking sticks, and building with Legos. Angela also loved life on the farm with her sister, Sherry and brother-in-law, Brett; she enjoyed sitting by the campfire, mowing and singing at the top of her lungs, and helping take care of the animals. Angela was slightly addicted to online shopping, especially on Temu’s website. But her main passion in life was her fur babies: Sir Winston and Prince Milo, her dogs and Doja and Amara, her cats.
Angela is survived by her son, Garrett Owsley; sisters, Sherry (Brett) Furnish and Susan (Aaron) Smith; nieces and nephews, LeeAnna (Nate) Smith, Karissa (Vinny) Moreno, Lexi Furnish, Ashley (Brandon) Fultz, Kaitlyn Carl, Sean Carl, and Dustin Hamilton; great nieces and nephews, Carter, Adalyne, Camila, Vince, Everlee, Charlee, Ryder, Lydia, Braylon, and Laniyah, and very special friends, Dawn and Arlie Smith, Kevin and Janice Carey, Joan Lynch, and Shelli Hayes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dewey and Dixie Lawson and paternal grandparents, Jerry and Martha Owsley.
The sisters would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Mahendron and her kind, caring staff at the Progressive Cancer Center of Marion and to Dr. Oudih and the compassionate hospice nurses at Ball Memorial Hospital.
A service honoring the life of Angela Owsley will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1PM at Twin City Bible Baptist Church, 7252 S. Meridian St, Marion, IN 46953, officiated by Pastor Dale Schuiteman. Family will receive friends beginning at 12PM. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Monday between 10AM-12PM.
