MARION, IN – Donald Lee Long, 83, of Marion, died on June 10, 2026. Don was born on March 14, 1943, in Louisville, KY to the late William and Opal Long. Don was a 1961 graduate of Harrisburg High School and later attended Marion College for 2 years. On April 25, 1986, in Marion, IN he married his sweetheart, Kathy, and the two began their life together. Don served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965 and worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1995. In his free time, Don enjoyed talking about Jesus to anyone he encountered. He and his bride enjoyed going to festivals and parades and would travel around the state, and beyond, to see the festivities taking place in other communities. He belonged to Light House Assembly of God and was a member of the UAW. Don’s friends and family will remember him most for his faith in Jesus, his love of his family, his energy and excitement when spending time with the people he loved.

Don is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Kathy; step-son, Chuck (Amy) Fenwick of Angola, IN; siblings, Eva Leachman, Jimmy Long, and Glen Long; grandchildren, Tyler (Monica) Fenwick of Indianapolis, IN, Jenna Fenwick of Cedar Grove, WI, Tobey Fenwick of Fort Wayne, IN, and Jerod Fenwick of New Haven, IN, as well as great grandchildren, Macy Daane of Cedar Grove, WI and Jack Fenwick of Indianapolis IN.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Frances Cresillis, Betty Cresillis, Lelia Edmonson, Eugene Long, Randall Long, David Long, Frank Long, and Larry Long.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 10:30am – 11:30am at Lighthouse Assembly of God, 5909 S Jay Street, Marion, IN. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11:30am officiated by Pastor Jerry Gallaway. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery with full military honors. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Tuesday between 9:00 - 11:00am. Memorial donations may be made to the church in Don’s honor. Donation envelopes will be provided at the church.
