In loving memory of

Bonnie Jeanne Holloway

1938 - 2026

MARION, IN - In Loving Memory of Bonnie Jeanne Holloway, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. She was born on August 6, 1938, to James E. Ancil Jr. and Francis E. Poe-Ancil. Bonnie Jeanne was the eldest of four children, she lived a life marked by faith, love, kindness, and devotion to others.

After graduating from Fairmount High School in 1956, Bonnie Jeanne enrolled at Elkhart University, receiving her associate degree and certification as Medical Records Clerk/Medical Secretary in 1958. Following initial employment at Marion General Hospital, she was offered a position by W. W. Ayres, MD, in August 1958.

Bonnie Jeanne continued in that position for the next thirty years, taking on the duties of Office Management as the medical practice grew from a single Practitioner to a group of four surgeons, two nurses and numerous support staff, from a single doctor’s secretary to office manager for a large, busy medical practice.

Following her initial retirement and relocation, Bonnie Jeanne again found a purpose in Logansport working for a Family Practice Physician for another thirteen years before finally retiring for good (she thought) in August 2002. After returning home to Grant County, Eastbrook Schools asked her to be an aid for a special needs child in a general education classroom. She responded with patience and compassion, enjoying not only that child but all the other children in that second grade.

Bonnie Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, Albert Holloway, November 30, 1958. Their nearly seven-decade marriage was a testament to enduring love and commitment. During Albert’s military service, Bonnie wrote him a letter nearly every day, reflecting the devotion that defined their relationship. Bonnie Jeanne’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose faith in Jesus Christ guided every part of her life. She found happiness in family gatherings, basketball, football and baseball, flower gardening, needlework, embroidery, diamond art, and caring for the world around her.

Bonnie Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, James & Frances; sister, Pauline; brothers-in- law, Melvin Blackburn, Duane Holloway, Dave Hulley, and Frank Murphy; and grandson, Brad Ferguson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Albert; children, Gregg (Liberta) Holloway, Albert “Chip” (Shelli) Holloway, and Lisa Benedict; sister, Pat (Bill) Holder; brother, James (Diana) Ancil; grandchildren, Alyssa Holloway, Colton Benedict, Nolan Benedict, Mick Dockery, and Corri Evans; ten great-grandchildren; along with extended family and many friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and faith.

Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, compassion, and unwavering faith. Her family finds comfort in the promise of Jesus Christ and the hope of seeing her again. Rest peacefully, Bonnie Jeanne. Well done, good and faithful servant.
