MARION, INDIANA - Leonard D. Wolfe, age 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, veteran, mentor, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2026. He was born on July 5, 1948, to the late Charles Virgil and Edna M. Wolfe (Coffelt) in Marion, Indiana.

Leonard lived a life defined by service, generosity, wisdom, and love. He proudly served his country as a United States Army soldier during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968. His commitment to service continued throughout his life through his involvement with the American Legion, where he became a respected and valued figure in his community. He carried the honor and strength of a soldier with him always, quietly demonstrating courage, loyalty, and devotion to others.

To many, Leonard was far more than a friend - he was a father figure, teacher, and trusted source of guidance. He possessed a remarkable wealth of knowledge and was always willing to share what he knew. He had a kind and giving heart, and he never hesitated to help someone in need. Whether through advice, encouragement, generosity, or simply his presence, Leonard made people feel supported and cared for.

Leonard also had a playful spirit. He loved to instigate a lively debate and argue for fun, often with a grin that let everyone know it was all in good humor. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and old muscle cars, and he held one opinion above all others with unwavering certainty - Elvis was, and always would be, the King of Rock and Roll.

On November 12, 2005, Leonard married Anita Wolfe, his loving and devoted wife. Their marriage endured through the remainder of his life and was filled with companionship, loyalty, shared memories, and deep love.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Anita Wolfe; his children, Jason Wolfe, Sean Brown, and Jennifer (Jason) Cromer; his grandchildren, Jasmin (Collin) Campbell, Allyssa Terry, Colten Smith, Cassie Dodson, Brennon Wolfe, Michael Lake Wolfe, Kaylea Wolfe, Amanda Lake Wolfe, and Gage Rowland; his great-grandchildren, Elijah Cox and Zayden Cox; his brother, Richard Wolfe; his aunt, Patty Smoot, and the many people who were blessed to regard him as a father figure, mentor, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Wolfe; his great-grandchild, Kyler Wolfe, and his brothers, Max Wolfe and Larry Wolfe.

Leonard's life cannot be measured only by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched. He gave freely, taught generously, loved faithfully, and served honorably. His stories, lessons, humor, and spirited debates will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on in his family, his fellow veterans, his community, and every person who found kindness, guidance, or strength in him.

Leonard will be remembered with profound gratitude and enduring love - a proud Army veteran, a devoted husband, a cherished family man, and a good and honorable man who was always willing to stand beside someone in need. Rest peacefully, Leonard. Your service is complete, your lessons remain, and your love will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held on DATE from TIMES at Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church, 2171 W. Chapel Pike, Marion, Indiana 46952. A funeral service will follow at TIME at the church officiated by Pastor Steve Colter. Burial with full military honors will be at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
