In loving memory of
Michael Scott Arndt
1963 - 2024
CLAYTON, IN – Michael “Scott” Arndt, age 60, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. He was born on April 16, 1963, to Curtis and Cynthia Arndt (Morrison) in Danville, IN. After graduating from Bethesda Christian High School in 1981, Scott served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1985. He married his high school sweetheart, Sherry Owens, on February 4, 1984, and the two began raising a family. Scott started his career in law enforcement in 1989 at the Plainfield Police Department, retiring as the Captain of Investigations in 2022 after 33 years of service.
He enjoyed doing anything outside, especially fishing, and loved riding his tractor on their 5-acre property, clearing paths for walks and hayrides with the grandkids. He was also a very talented and creative woodworker. Scott loved his family fiercely and was always trying to make Sherry laugh. He will be remembered as “the calm to her storm.”
In addition to his parents, Scott leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Sherry Arndt; children, Austin (Kaleigh) Arndt of Fishers, IN and Katie (Cody) Podor of Bradenton, FL.; his two siblings, Sheldon (Karen) Arndt and Angie (Brent) Creed, and four grandchildren, Asher, Annie, Everly, and Molly.
