Karen Owens
1943 - 2025
PLAINFIELD, IN – Karen Ann (Heffelman) Owens, age 82, of Plainfield, died peacefully on March 30, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was born on January 9, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Aaron B. and A. Gaynell (Talley) Heffelman-Brown.
Karen worked as an Administrative and Executive Assistant for 30 years at various companies and retired from McDonald & Co. Investment Bank in 2001. She was a longtime member of Plainfield Christian Church, the Melody Makers Chorus of Hendricks County, and several quiltmaker guilds. Karen was also an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Scott Arndt.
Karen leaves behind her daughters, Sherry (Owens) Arndt, Clayton, IN and Tina (Owens) Weigel, Fillmore, IN; brother, Philip (Judy) Heffelman, Plainfield, IN, along with 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, IN, officiated by Pastor Cody Podor. Family requests that instead of sending flowers, friends consider making memorial contributions to Turning Point Ministries/David Jeremiah or The Gathering Together.
