RUSSIAVILLE, IN - Harold E. "Hal" Daugherty, age 78, of Russiaville, died at home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 9, 1946, in Shelbyville, IN, to the late Russell and Anna Ruth Daugherty. He was a 1964 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette, IN. Hal entered the U.S. Army immediately following high school graduation, at the age of 17. Upon return from the Army he worked at Coca Cola, Allision Transmission in Indianapolis, IN, and then went to apprentice school through I.B.E.W. Local 873 Kokomo, IN, where he held several offices throughout his 40+ years of being a journeyman electrician. On most weekends you could find Hal drag racing throughout the racing season. Hal loved all his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their various dogs, with all his heart.

Hal is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Shane (Angie) Daugherty of Kokomo, IN; daughters, Shawn (Ron) Mace of Muncie, IN, Shanon (Carl) Sharp of Kokomo, IN; sister, Marilyn (Jim) Hester of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Taran (Meg) Knosp of MI, Daman (Kristen) Knosp of McCordsville, IN, Jessica (Zach Brantley) Daugherty, Kami (Alex) Leiter, Breyten Sharp, Lexi Prince, and Mason Prince, all of Kokomo, IN; great grandchildren, Archer Leiter, Leo Brantley, and baby girl, Leiter, due in mid-October 2024, all of Kokomo, IN.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Madeline Hines.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 1803 E. Vaile, Kokomo, IN 46901, with Pastor Steve Riggins officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church between 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of your choice or to the church.
