KOKOMO, IN – Scott P. Ellington, age 75, of Kokomo, passed peacefully to his eternal reward on Friday, March 28, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on March 18, 1950, in Morehead, KY, to the late Paul Davis and Mavis Roberta (Green) Ellington. As a young man, Scott was a member of the Army, 4th Infantry Division, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He worked for many years driving semi trucks then as a machine repairman at Chrysler automotive for 20+ years before retiring. He was a willing leader, outstanding protector, and hero who gladly sacrificed when needed and greatly enjoyed spending time with people, especially his family. Scott loved the Lord and for many years served faithfully in a variety of areas at Grace Community Foursquare Church. He was known throughout his life as "the counselor" because he was always ready to listen and give advice when asked. He will be remembered as a man highly capable, with great tenacity, who always followed through and completed every mission wherever he was.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Ellington; his son, Sean Ellington; and his grandson, Jayden Ellington.

Scott leaves behind his beloved wife of 21 years, Rita Ellington; children, Amber and Chris Ellington; step-daughter and son, Mindy Bridges and Randy Hudson; siblings (spouses), Sharon (Tim) Cunningham, Rick (Tama) Ellington, Beverly Canard, Terry (Cara) Ellington, Charlie (Robin) Ellington, Brenda (Brian) Paddack, and Jackie Hendren; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and uncle, Jim Green who was like another brother.

Visitation will be Friday, April 4, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Grace Community Foursquare Church, 2020 Goyer Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM officiated by Pastor Mike Rush. Burial with military honors will take place at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, Kokomo, IN. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
