ANDERSON, INDIANA – Dustin W. Bass, age 48, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1976, in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Haskell D. Bass and Minnie (Smith) Killian.

Dustin was a construction worker by trade, but he was a man who was always working with his hands in many areas. He was very artistic, drawing, creating, and remodeling things for the enjoyment of others. He enjoyed cooking and doing upholstery with his aunt. He loved his family and took special time chatting with his mother daily. He loved reaching out and encouraging those who were less fortunate. Dustin had some difficult days but came through them by trusting in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.

In addition to Dustin’s father, he is predeceased by his brother, John W Lay II; along with his grandparents, aunts, and uncles. He is survived by his mother, Minnie (Mark) Killian; his sister, Sabrena (Michael) Lay Hughes; his brothers, Dean Bass and Timothy Bass; his step-sister, Angela Killian; his step-brother, Jason (Vicky) Killian; his aunts, Dora Rinker & Mary Smith; his nephews, Michael Hughes II, John Caleb Hughes, Stephen Hughes and Dean Bass Jr; his cousins, Scott (Nikki) Rinker, Lora (Sam) Clabough, Karrie Duncan, Jason Smith, Jenifer Smith, Amber Smith, Evelyn Taylor, Delois Cardwell, Latasha Taylor, Larry Pfohl, and many other cousins.

The family will receive friends at New Life Church, 1803 E. Vaile Ave, Kokomo, IN on Wednesday, April 16th. Visitation from 11AM-12PM. A funeral service will follow at 12PM with Pastor Devin Galloway officiating. Interment will be at the Albright Cemetery immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions may be directed to New Life Church. Donor envelopes will be provided at the funeral. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Wednesday, April 16th between 9AM and 11AM.
