In loving memory of
Regina Anne McKinney
1967 - 2026
KOKOMO, INDIANA – Regina Anne McKinney, age 58, a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend passed away on January 7, 2026. Regina was born on November 8, 1967, in Kokomo, IN, to Paul and Joyce (Carter) Hunter. Regina was a student of both Kokomo and Haworth High Schools and later attended Anthem College, earning her Associate’s degree in Medical Billing and Coding. On December 28, 2003, in Kokomo, she married her sweetheart, John Wayne McKinney, and the two continued raising their family together.
Regina worked as a florist and in greenhouses for a while, but chose to work as a homemaker, focusing on the health and care of her children and her parents. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing and fossil hunting. Relying on the use of her wheelchair, she loved shopping with her daughter, and spending time with her family. She belonged to New Covenant Christian Center (Fuel Church) and In His Image churches. Regina will be remembered by her friends and family for her compassion for those less fortunate, her advocacy for her family, especially her daughter who lost her vision, her love for GOD, her unwavering love and humor during difficult times, and her willingness to give a hug or prayer to anyone who asked. Even in her declining health, she told others to continue praising Jesus and to never give up.
Regina is survived by her husband of 23 years, John McKinney; children, Amanda (James) Blaise, and Joshua Bagwell; sibling, Rene Hunter; grandchild, Miracle Blaise; multiple cousins, and friends who were considered her adopted family.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Paul and Joyce, and multiple aunts.
