GREENWOOD, INDIANA - Claudia Embudo Gimeno, age 93, of Greenwood, died on March 2, 2026. Claudia was born on May 8, 1932, in Argao, Cebu, Philippines to the late Isidro Embudo and Marcela Embudo. Claudia attended Abellana High School in Argao. She attended college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. On December 25, 1955, in Cebu City, Claudia married Apolonio Gimeno, her sweetheart, and the two were happily married for 67 years. Claudia worked for Kraft Food Company as Regional Payroll Coordinator. She was a faithful and valued employee into her 70s. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, crocheting, gardening, trying new restaurants and most of all, spending time with family. She was a member of St. Norbert’s Church in Northbrook, Illinois, where she resided most of her life. She moved to Indiana several years ago and joined Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. We enjoyed many wonderful memories together as she embraced her role as “Lola” and great “Lola Auntie.”

Claudia’s friends and family will remember their “Auntie Ludy” most for her faithfulness, kindness, generosity, and diligence. Her loving and peaceful spirit endeared her to all those around her. Auntie Ludy was a gentle soul who loved her Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We are also grateful to the Paradigm Hospice Team who came alongside our family to support, guide, and make the last months of her life especially meaningful. Thank you, Cindy, Amber, Victoria, Don, Father Todd and the loving family who visited, prayed, and sang to Auntie in her last week. Your presence matters.

Claudia is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Isidro and Marcela Embudo, she was preceded in death by her husband, Apolonio Gimeno, and 3 sisters, Crescencia Davide, Panfila Canizares, and Dr. Gregoria Yanong.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 PM at the church with Father Todd Goodson officiating.

The Rite of Committal (Graveside Service) will take place around 1:30 PM either graveside or in the chapel, depending on weather at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1709 State Rd 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. A reception honoring the life and legacy of Claudia will follow the Rite of Committal at 3:00 PM at Grafton Peek Social Hall, 171 S. Madison Avenue, Greenwood, Indiana 46142.
