UNION CITY, IN - On March 27, 2025, Robert Wesley Sibery, a hardworking man who lived a life of love, duty, and selfless service departed this earth at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Born on February 5, 1939, he was a graduate of Saratoga High School's Class of 1957. He later went on to serve his country with honor from 1961 to 1964 as a Military Specialist 5. During his service, he was offered a significant promotion to Warrant Officer - a testament to his skill and dedication - but he chose instead to return home to his wife, Jeanette, and their young daughter, Kim. It was a decision that spoke volumes about the man he was, family came first. He shared 63 steadfast years with Jeanette Sibery, his cherished wife, and together they raised daughter, Kim and son, Terry, with unwavering care.

His pride extended to his grandchildren, Tiffany Moreland, Michael Boxell, and Logan Sibery, who were the light of his life, and he leaves them with memories of a grandfather who loved them and was always there to help. After 32 years of dedicated service, he retired from General Motors in Muncie, IN. Retirement though, didn't mean rest. While others might have fished or relaxed, he started Sibery Builders, stepping in after his brother-in-law, Cloyce Smith's sudden passing, to complete Cloyce's jobs. When the crew asked him to help save their livelihoods, he rose to the challenge with the same steady resolve that shaped his life.

A devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene, he spent countless hours lending his hands to others. Robert joined mission trips, often as a leader, to Mexico, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico, pouring his hard work into building schools and churches for those in need. Back home, he volunteered his skills with the same tireless spirit that marked his life. His love flowed through humble deeds, a steady example of faith and care in action. As he crossed into eternity, he was greeted with open arms by his grandson, Bradyn Sibery, who had been eagerly awaiting his grandpa's arrival in heaven. We are sure it was a lively and joyful reunion.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette Sibery; his daughter, Kim Young; his son, Terry Sibery, and his grandchildren, Tiffany Moreland, Michael Boxell, and Logan Sibery. Though he has left this earth, his spirit endures in the wild, heartfelt stories they'll tell, the love they'll carry forward, and the many lives he enriched with his kindness and generosity. A life well-lived, a man well-loved, forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Randolph Friends Church, 6531 N 300 W, Ridgeville, IN 47380. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM officiated by Pastor Jonathan Edwards. Burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Ridgeville, IN.
