1953 - 2026
WINCHESTER, IN - Don Fay Kolp II, affectionately known as “Donnie”, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at 5:49 p.m. at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at the age of 72. He was born on April 6, 1953, in Winchester, Indiana, to Don Fay and Marilyn (Gulley) Kolp.
Donnie lived a straightforward, honest life centered on the things that truly mattered: his family, hard work, and the quiet pleasures of the outdoors. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Deborah Kolp; his daughters, Kimberly Sibery and Jennifer Moreland; his sons, Ty Kolp and Trent Kolp; his mother, Marilyn Kolp, his sisters, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends—especially Moe Steen.
A lifelong resident of the Winchester, Indiana area, Donnie developed a deep love for nature as an Eagle Scout and carried it through the years with hunting and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman. He took real satisfaction in sharing his skills and knowledge with his children and grandchildren—creating lasting memories in the woods, in the fields, and on the lake.
Donnie loved 4-H and made sure his children and grandchildren had the chance to take part and enjoy it too. He loved helping them with their projects and showing them the rewards of hard work, caring for animals, and the land.
Donnie was a dedicated farmer for many years, and he balanced that work with a remarkable 47-year career at Anchor Glass in Winchester, Indiana, often handling both jobs at the same time. He never sought attention or excess; he simply did what had to be done—to provide, protect, and support the people he loved. His strong work ethic and dependability were plain to see, earning quiet respect from coworkers and friends.
He could always be counted on when his family needed him, whether lending a hand on a project, showing up to a ball game, pitching in on a family vacation, or simply sharing a good conversation. Donnie left behind a legacy of integrity, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to family. His warmth, strength, and quiet selflessness will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Randolph Friends Church, 6531 N 300 W, Ridgeville, Indiana 47380. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Edwards. Burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Ridgeville, Indiana. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Tuesday between 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the church, in honor of Donnie. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
