CINCINNATI, OHIO – Gloria Owusu, age 75, passed away on November 17, 2025, at her residence. Gloria was born on March 21, 1950, in Memphis, TN to Frank Sr. and Linetta (Carpenter) Johnson. She was raised in Middletown, OH and graduated from Middletown High School. She worked as a telecommunications operator for 30 years before retiring. Gloria married her husband Paul Owusu on December 4, 2003.

Gloria was the beloved matriarch of her family, filling their lives with love, warmth, and quiet strength. Her pure heart and genuine care for others touched everyone she met. One of her greatest gifts was helping her husband reunite with his children from Ghana, a moment that brought deep joy to their family. Gloria enjoyed watching her favorite shows and movies, especially Korean dramas, NCIS, Chicago Med, Star Wars, and the Harry Potter series. She was also an avid reader and found peace in fishing. Gloria will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely.

Gloria leaves to cherish her precious memory, husband, Paul Owusu; 3 sons; Ernest Owusu, Emmanuel (Nana Achiaa) Owusu and Steven Owusu; siblings, Rhoda Thompson, Wanda Johnson, Frank (Marva) Johnson, Bessie Johnson and Claudia Davis; 5 grandchildren; a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Frank Johnson; her mother, Linetta Johnson; her daughter, Christiana (Atta) Boakye; and her nephew, Steven Davis.

A visitation will be held at United Missionary Baptist Church, 719 18th Ave, Middletown, OH 45044, on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Kendall Wright officiating. Burial will take place at Woodside Cemetery, 1401 Woodside Blvd, Middletown, OH 45044.

Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family in honor of Gloria, if desired.
