Hobert Cecil Fitch
1941 - 2026
LOGAN, OHIO – Hobert Cecil Fitch, age 85, of Logan, went home to the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Assurance Health Hospital. He was born on January 19, 1941, in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Harold and Lillie (Castle) Fitch of Johnson County, Kentucky. Hobert was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Logan, Ohio.
He is survived by his son, Kim (Melissa) Fitch of Logan, Ohio; 3 daughters, Janet Fitch of Tallahassee, Florida, Lilly Fitch of Brian, Ohio and Pamela Fitch of Napoleon, Ohio; 2 sisters, Helen Webb of Enon, Ohio and Terrie (Rob) McHenry of Springfield, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, along with a host of loving nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Wilma Jean Groll Fitch in 1998; a son Jerry Fitch in 1997; a sister, Alice Meade in 2012, and a brother Harold Doug Fitch in 2019.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Forest Valley Free Will Church, 1821 Troy Road, Springfield, Ohio 45504, with Pastor Del Wallace officiating. The visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, 29231 County Rd 424, Defiance, Ohio 43512
Flowers may be delivered to the church on Wednesday between 8:30-10:30 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, in Hobert’s honor. Donation envelopes will be provided at the church.
