BRUNSWICK, OHIO – Jim R. McPherson, age 73, of Brunswick, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Bill and Edna (Poland) McPherson.

Growing up, Jim was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the Eagle Scout rank. Later, he continued his service as a scout leader. Knowing each other since they were kids, Jim married Joyce (Butler) on January 5, 1974. Jim was a graphic designer throughout his entire career and worked his way up to become Creative Director and Owner of Ad Art Studios. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Strongsville, OH where he served as a deacon. Jim always had a passion for art and bird watching. His quiet and gentle presence will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce; his children, Martin (Kay) McPherson and Rachel (Lincoln) McPherson; his grandson Micah McPherson; and siblings William (Marcey), Randy (Lacrecia), and Linda McPherson.

The family will receive visitors at First Baptist Church, 17444 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH on Saturday, July 5, from 1 - 2 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM with Chaplain Jeff Cunningham officiating. Friends are also invited to join a reception of fellowship and memories after the service.

Memorial contributions may be directed, in Jim’s memory, to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary (3774 Orweiler Rd., Mansfield, Ohio 44903) or to the church.
