In loving memory of

Julia Green

1932 - 2025

CLEVELAND, OH – Julia Evelyn Green was born on May 2, 1932, in Village Springs, Alabama, to the late Hosmer and Kitty (Corruthers) Taylor. She was the seventh of ten siblings: Beulah Taylor, Annie (Doll) Parker, Ervin Taylor, George Taylor, Bennie Taylor, Rose Hill, Alma Mathis, Jeraldine Mosley, and Angelene Watson.

At an early age, Julia confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Village Springs. She later graduated from Hooper City High School.

In the early 1950s, Julia relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where she was soon joined by her younger sisters. It was in Cleveland that she met the love of her life, Lonnie Green. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing. Both Julia and Lonnie were devoted members of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, where she joined under the late Rev. Odie M. Hoover and faithfully served under Rev. Dr. Otis Moss Jr. and Dr. Jawanza K. Colvin. Julia found great joy in singing with the choir and serving as a Deaconess.

Julia built a successful career with Society/KeyBank, where she worked with dedication and professionalism for over 30 years. Though she never had biological children of her own, Julia embraced the role of a loving mother figure to many, especially her nieces and nephews. Her wisdom, guidance, and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She had a gift for speaking truth with love, ensuring her words were both respected and cherished.

A woman of grace and adventure, Julia loved music and traveling the world, with her journeys even taking her to the Holy Land in Jerusalem. She was deeply loved by her family and community, living her life with faith, joy, and generosity of spirit.
On Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 93, Julia peacefully answered God’s call to her heavenly home. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Alma Mathis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Julia Evelyn Green will forever remain in our hearts, remembered for her faith, kindness, and the love she so freely shared.
