In loving memory of
Beatrice Marshall
1945 - 2026
CLEVELAND, OHIO – Beatrice “Bea” Viola Marshall, age 81, of Cleveland, earned her wings on July 13, 2026. Bea was born on May 6, 1945, in Coatopa, Alabama to the late Beatrice (Wabbington) Travis & William Travis, Sr. She was named after her dear mother. She had a lovely, playful and joking childhood. She was always ready to help anyone she could.
Bea accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. William King at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Coatopa, Alabama. Bea graduated from Sumter County Training School in Livingston, Alabama, as a proud member of the Class of 1962. Later that year, Bea moved to Cleveland seeking employment working, at LB Manufacturing and Bob White Cleaners. Cleveland is where Bea met a young man from Georgia named Bobby Marshall. Their relationship blossomed, and together they created a loving family.
Bea—as she was affectionately known—found great joy in caring for others. She had many hobbies and talents, including cooking, sewing, and serving as the “perfect caregiver” to numerous children throughout her life. Whether caring for family or neighborhood children, she did so with patience, kindness, and unconditional love. She also enjoyed cheering on her favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers and her beloved Cleveland Browns.
Our dear mother Bea will be greatly missed by her beloved children, Chris and Tasha of Cleveland Ohio; sisters, Lilly (Gus Jr.) Travis McGee, and Freddie Travis Warren; grandchildren, Chris Jr., Treasure, Chelsea, Shelbi and Cameron; and great grandchildren, Kristain, Sean and Shedeu; nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews, and many beautiful friends.
In addition to her parents, Bea is preceded in death by her brothers, William Travis, Jr., Eddie Ross Travis and their wives; sisters, Virginia (Freddie) Travis Sigler, and Ceola Travis McDowell.
Although Bea has departed this earthly life, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Calvary Congregational Church, 4424 Lee Road, Cleveland, OH 44128. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Nathaniel Harpe officiating. Burial will take place at Cleveland Memorial Gardens, Cleveland, OH.
Flowers may be delivered to the church on Wednesday between 9 – 10 AM. Memorial donations may be made to church in Bea’s honor. Donation envelopes will be provided at the church. For additional information and to view Bea’s online obituary please visit www.churchfuneralsdirect.com
