BRUNSWICK, OHIO – Joyce E. McPherson, age 74, of Brunswick, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was born on May 6, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Richard and Patricia (Buchanan) Butler.

During her school days Joyce was active in the band, playing the French Horn. Knowing each other since childhood, Joyce married Jim McPherson on January 5, 1974. She worked various jobs throughout her lifetime, including at a bank, a bakery, Scholastic Books, as a school transport driver for special needs kids, and as a bookkeeper for Jim's graphic design company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Strongsville, OH. Joyce always loved crafting and creating things with her hands, learning about and caring for bees, and deeply cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by Jim, her husband of 51 years, and sister, Elaine. She is survived by her children, Martin (Kay) McPherson and Rachel (Lincoln) McPherson; her grandson, Micah McPherson, and brother, Rick (Beth).

The family will receive visitors at First Baptist Church, 17444 Drake Road, Strongsville, Ohio 44136 on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1 - 2 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM with Chaplain Jeff Cunningham officiating. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM – 1 PM. Friends are also invited to join a reception of fellowship and memories after the service.
