SANFORD, FL - Allen “Al” Everett Kocher, age 78, of Sanford, FL took his flight home to be with his maker on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1947, in Bucyrus, OH to the late Earl and Mary (Pettit) Kocher. Al’s only sibling was Brenda Kocher, who was four years younger. He was the neighborhood paperboy for many years. In 1965, he graduated from Bucyrus High School, where he starred on the football team throughout his high school years. Football was his “second love”. He met the “Love of his Life”, Anna Diller, in high school, and they were married on July 14, 1968. Together they had five children: Michael, Nicole, Jennifer, Bryan, and Kevin. He spent his adult life working in sales and after moving his family around for several years, finally settled in Greenville, OH, where they lived for 42 years. While in Greenville, Al was active in their community, volunteering in many capacities with their church and coaching Youth Soccer League. Eventually, the cold weather moved them to Sanford, FL. Al was raised to be a “family man” and he was actively involved with and very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Al is survived by his wife, Anna of Sanford, FL; sister, Brenda (Dave) Young of Bloomville, Ohio; son, Michael (Carol) Kocher of Sanford, FL; son, Kevin (Sheena) Kocher of Ansonia, OH; grandchildren, Maisie (Nigel) Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Alyssa (Greg) Frost of Sanford, FL, Andrew Kocher, Elijah Kocher, Brayden Kocher, Barrett Kocher, and Alayna Kocher, as well as great grandchildren, Aubrie Frost, Cohen Frost, Winston Frost, Aurora Frost, Clementine Johnson, and Magnolia Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Al is preceded in death by his grandparents, in-laws, Melva and Harry Diller, and children, Nicole Kocher, Jennifer Kocher, and Bryan Kocher.

There will be a service honoring Al’s life on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00AM at Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1400 E Main Street, Greenville, OH, officiated by Pastor Drew Bush. Family will begin receiving friends at 10:00AM.

Instead of sending flowers, the family encourages donations to Trinity Wesleyan Church or to the Darke County Soccer Association in Greenville. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
