DEFIANCE, OH - Tiodora “Dora” Garcia, age 68, of Defiance, died Friday, September 20, 2024. She was born on May 8, 1956, in Big Spring, TX, to the late Benardo and Esperanza (Vega) Polanco. Dora worked for the EF Foundation, where she enjoyed placing foreign exchange students with families. She also worked at Hubbard Company, ServiceMaster, Defiance College, and Walmart.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Benardo Polanco and Jose Vega.
She is survived by her son, Jose (Misty) Garcia III of Defiance, OH; siblings, Mary Ann Polanco of Defiance, OH, John (Cindy) Polanco of Fort Worth, TX, and Sylvia Polanco of Odessa, TX; 3 grandchildren, Ellie (Matt) Sobota of NC, Jose (Bethany) Garcia IV of Lancaster, OH, and Brittney Garcia of Defiance, OH; great-grandson, Hudson Garcia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
