Bonnie Lawson
1944 - 2025
DEFIANCE, OH – Bonnie Sue Lawson, age 80, of Defiance, died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 25, 2025. She was born on March 13, 1944, in Defiance, OH to the late Verley and Betty (Mobley) Brown. Bonnie was a 1962 graduate of Defiance High School and on December 26, 1965, she married her sweetheart, Roy Lawson, and the two began raising a family.
Bonnie could be considered a homebody, but she often enjoyed taking car rides and playing cards with her husband. In her younger years she bowled on several leagues and in her twilight years she took to Wii Bowling at home. Bonnie also loved crossword puzzles, trivia, and Sudoku. She also had the gift of gab, talking to anyone who would listen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lawson; siblings, Eugene Brown, Greg Brown, and Jayne Peterson; two infant daughters, Kim and Tammy, and an infant grandson, Bradley.
Bonnie leaves behind her children, Mark (Ginny) Lawson, Mikel Lawson, Matthew (Tiffany) Lawson, John (Jill) Lawson, Nicole (Ben) Long, and Amy (Bill) Jurcevich; siblings, Cheryl Davis and Kandi Dimock; 20 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10-11a.m. at First Church of God, 561 Carter Rd, Defiance, OH 43512. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Walt Sheppard. Burial will be at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, OH. Rather than sending flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church or to a charity of your choice.
