DEFIANCE, OH — Sandra Rose March, age 82, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on March 30, 2025, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, with her husband and daughter by her side.

Born on August 17, 1942, to James and Olive (Steele) Pessefall, Sandra grew up in Defiance and was a 1960 graduate of Defiance High School. She worked and later retired from Dana Corporation. Sandra and Frederick March were married on January 28, 1983.

Sandra found joy in simple pleasures such as bingo, crafts, crocheting, and gardening. She also enjoyed the lively atmosphere of casinos and cherished the company of her canine companions over the years. She always looked forward to spending time with her family, which brought her great happiness. Family and friends will remember her for helping others and for her kind heart.

Sandra is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Fred March; her children, Billie (John) Keber of Marysville, OH and Jason Shaffer and his family, of Defiance, OH; her grandchildren, Madison Hostettler, Lilianna, Delaney, and Amelia Keber, and her siblings, James Pessefall, Carol (James) Gares, and Linda Proch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Shaffer and her brothers, Raymond and David Pessefall.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
