Lester Lengacher
1936 - 2025
HICKSVILLE, OHIO – Lester Lengacher, age 88, of Hicksville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1936, in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Elmer and Emma (Stoll) Lengacher.
Lester was a contractor by trade. He loved construction, often building things even into his retirement years. He was a member of Hicksville Mennonite Church. Lester enjoyed camping, fishing, mowing his grass, and playing cards, but his two passions were family and prayer. He looked forward to attending many of the children’s and grandchildren’s baseball, softball and basketball games. He was so proud of his family of five generations. A Gospel music lover, he regularly texted new songs to his family. He was a prayer warrior, worshiping and entreating the Lord every day for his family, his church, and his community. One of his legacies was communicated with his common words, “I want you to always love each other.”
In addition to Lester’s parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Maxine (Neukam) Lengacher; his second wife of 6 years, Martha (Wagler) Lengacher; and his grandson, Luke David Coe. Lester is survived by his daughters, Tammy Jones, Deb (Brad) Delagrange, Brenda (Kevin) Delagrange, and Treva (Barry deceased) Coe; his stepdaughter, Wilma (Al) Stark; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hicksville Mennonite Church, 237 W. Arthur St., Hicksville, Ohio. Visitations will be on Thursday, May 15, from 2 – 5 PM, and from 6 – 8 PM. Then, on Friday, May 16, there will be another visitation from 10 – 11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Eicher officiating. Interment will be at Yaggy Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
Memorial contributions may be directed, in Lester’s memory, to Hicksville Mennonite Church. Donor envelopes will be provided at the funeral.
