Carole Ysasaga
1955 - 2025
DEFIANCE, OH - Carole Ann Ysasaga, 70, of Defiance, died on September 16, 2025, after battling cancer. She was born on March 14, 1955, in Fremont, Ohio, to Marvin and Bertha (Cloud) Weber.
Carole graduated in 1973, grew up in Defiance, and found her career in bartending. When she wasn’t bartending, you would find Carole at a pool tournament. Carole has won countless trophies, badges, pins, and other items while traveling through northern Ohio competing in pool leagues and championships. Also, she really enjoyed watching football. Her favorite NFL team was the Chicago Bears and college team was Ohio State. During Carole’s free time, she loved taking care of her plants and flowers, cooking, shopping, and talking to her family and friends. Carole will be missed by many.
She adored her cat, “Stewie”, and had many cats throughout the years. She and “Stewie” spent 18 long years together. She spoiled him and loved him more than anything.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Ysasaga; children Leah (Brandon) Thirlby, Alannah (TJ) Erickson, Jason (Ally) Salay, and Josh Salay; sisters-in-law, Susan Weber and Gloria Ysasaga; step-daughter, Angela (Eric) Rodriguez; step-son, Joe (Chrissy) Salay, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carole was preceded in death by her father, Marvin; mother, Bertha; brother, Terry; brother-in-law, David; grandson, Cadyn, and previous husband, Dan Salay.
A memorial gathering, honoring Carole’s life, will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 711 W. 2nd St, Defiance, Ohio 43512, from 1:00-5:00PM. For additional information and to view Carole’s online obituary, please visit www.churchfuneralsdirect.com
