Arloa Mae Savoie

1942 - 2026

HICKSVILLE, OH - Arloa Mae Savoie, age 83, of Hicksville, OH passed away on January 17, 2026, at VanCrest of Hicksville. She was born to the late Orton Edwards and Elsie (Bronson) Edwards-Haywood, in Hastings, MI on September 29, 1942.

Arloa was a hard worker from a young age. She worked with her husband at a filling station for several years before working at Dietrich Industries in Hicksville and then at Meijer store in Defiance until retiring.

She enjoyed photography and visiting with friends over the phone and in person. Always looking to bring a smile or brighten someone’s day, she shared many jokes and frequently offered a prayer for those with needs. Playing cards and dominoes were favorite pastimes, as was attending church services when she was able.

She will be fondly missed by her family, friends, caretakers, and church family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Wanda Johnson; sisters, Joyce Parker and Charlene Easey; niece, Alicia Wendell; nephew, Orton Engle; and her Uncle Harry and Aunt Grace Bronson, who raised her following her father’s death at the age of 2 years.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Hicksville Mennonite Church, 237 West Arthur Street, Hicksville, OH 43526, with Pastors Steve Eicher and Jay Mast officiating. Burial will be at the Rutland Township Cemetery in Hastings, MI. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday at 5 PM. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Christ Cupboard Ministries, in honor of Arloa.
