DEFIANCE, OHIO – Harold Wayne Buchanan, age 84, of Defiance, OH, died on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at his home with his loving wife by his side. Harold was born on May 16, 1942, in Wise, VA, son of the late David and Vera (Carico) Buchanan. On March 26, 1962, in Hillside, MI, he married his sweetheart, Revella Relyea, and the two began raising a family together. Harold enjoyed fishing and bird watching. He also belonged to Bible Baptist Church. His friends and family will remember him most for the love he had for his wife, Revella, and their family.

Harold is survived by his wife of 64 years, Revella Buchanan; sons, Harold “Buck” (Joey) Buchanan Jr. of Defiance, OH and Kenneth (Teresa) Buchanana of Bryan, OH; 4 grandchildren, Lysa, Brandon, Luke, and Johnathon, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Hunter, Anderson, Denver, Jasper, and baby Braxton will be born in September.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Buchanan II.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 3, 2026, beginning at 10 AM at First Church of God, 561 Carter Rd, Defiance, OH 43512. A funeral service will follow at the church on Friday at 11 AM officiated by Pastor Pat Holt. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, OH. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 8:30-10:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the church, in honor of Harold. Donation envelopes will be provided at the church.
